“Maria Cornejo, the force behind Zero, tapped shoe designer Eileen Shields for an upcoming, collaborative shoe collection. Though Shields has been designing on her own since 2004, she was previously a consultant for both Zac Posen and Donna Karan, and her footwear is a current favorite among stars like Halle Berry and Eva Longoria (who commissioned a five-inch stiletto for her role on Desperate Housewives). Furthermore, Shields’ ubiquitous Juliette slipper gave new meaning to the words “ballet flat” with a chic, feminine t-strap. Now, she brings her sculptural elements to this collection for Zero with a chunky-heeled, pink haircalf pump as well as a slip-on oxford.

Maria Cornejos’ classic cuts and understated elegance pair well with Shield’s strong technical grasp. The pink haircalf whimsically corresponds with the pops of color and graphic prints woven throughout Cornejo’s autumn/winter ‘08 line, while the masculine oxfords offer a strong counterpoint to Cornejo’s feminine, circle-based patterns. This heavenly match will be available in stores come September.”

“As you know, it’s a bad idea to text message while driving. Did you ever consider that it may be a bad idea to text while walking as well??

I was wearing a sweet pair of Pollini stilettos while walking through a parking lot, when suddenly WHAM, I stubbed my toe hard and lurched forward. I managed to stay upright but the entire front half of my Pollini fell victim to one of those concrete trapezoids they put at the end of parking spots. Ouch! The sad thing is, I got those $600 shoes on sale for $100 but the repair would probably be nearly as much!”

S&TC FAVORITE SHOE MOMENT

Favorite moment number two is when Carrie has a fabulous new pair of Christian Louboutin’s — hot pink Stiletto sandals with a feather.  She is sailing around Central Park with Big and gets a call from Miranda — she’s in labor.  Carrie rushes to the hospital, and Miranda’s water breaks  . . . right on her new Louboutins. A pair of shoes has died, but a baby is born.

We asked the ever-major Jason Campbell, Editor in Chief of esteemed style bulletin, JCREPORT, if he had ever had a favorite pair of shoes ruined and here’s what he had to say:

“I had a gorgeous paid of sand-colored Dries Van Noten canvas shoes and on a jaunty stroll in Brazil a pigeon relieved itself on these most prized possession. I was gutted but thankfully I have nearly 100 pair of shoes in my footwear arsenal. There’s always another option. But I really do love those Dries lace ups, I’ve never seen them anywhere else.  In fact I still have the shoes with the plans to dye them to camouflage that oh so unpleasant spot de merde.”

DESIGNER PROFILE OF THE WEEK

I first was introduced to shoe designer Eileen Shields about four years ago.  This Irish lass makes fantastic creations, in gorgeous leathers, and continues to innovate every season with new shapes and forms.  Her T-strap mary jane, also known as the Juliette, has become a ubiquitous fashion staple among Hollywood elite from Halle Berry and Drew Barrymore, and she was commissioned personally by Stiletto-lover Eva Longoria herself to create a shoe for her character in Desperate Housewives. (It’s the sassy shoe you see a picture of above).  Spring 08 is gorgeous platforms with cutout peep-toes, lucite heels and elegant strappy sandals in materials like mirror platinums and rich suedes, with pitch-perfect detailing from a feather to a twisted leather bow.  We look forward to Fall with baited breath.

Limitations on Eligibility/Availability of Contest

This Contest is void where prohibited by applicable law. Winners may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and applicable tax forms as a condition to the delivery of the applicable prize. The Sex and the City Shoe Therapy contest is open only to residents of the 50 United States of America or the District of Columbia who are 18 years or older as of May 7, 2008.

How to Enter

No purchase is necessary to participate in the Contest. To enter you must submit an original comment to MissMeghan.com. The contestant is the person who submits the comment, and provides valid contact information on the comment format. Miss Meghan Media, Inc. has the right to remove any comment entries it deems inappropriate. These comments will not be eligible for entry.

By entering the Contest you will be agreeing that your email will be subscribed to Miss Meghan’s Newsletter and that your comment becomes owned by Miss Meghan Media, Inc.. All online entries must include entrant’s valid email address.

The Contest will begin at approximately 12:01a.m. EST, May 7, 2008, and entries must be date stamped by our server no later than 11:59p.m. EST, May 31, 2008. The email address provided by online entrants will be the identity of the entrant and, if selected for a prize, the identity of the winner. Prize

There will be one prize awarded per week of a) one pair of luxury designer shoes from the designer of the week (selection is dependent upon current stock and sizing of the individual designer) and b) a shoe comfort package from Dr. Scholls for Her.

All prizes will be awarded. No substitutions (including for cash) are permitted, except that the Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater monetary value for any prize. Winner shall be responsible and liable for all federal, state and local taxes on the value of their prize.

Selection

The winning entry will be selected at random from the comments section of the specific Sex And The City Shoe Therapy Contest post that day. To be elgible you must put a valid email address in the body of the comment.

The winners will be notified by email. Winners must claim the prizes within 7 business days after the date of notification of such prize. A winner’s failure to respond to the prize notification within the specified time period will be considered forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner may be selected from the pool of eligible entries.

An entrant or winner may be disqualified from the Contest if he or she fails to comply with each provision of these Official Rules.
