WHAT YOUR SHOES SAY ABOUT YOU: TOP FIVE SHOES AT THE OSCARS ®

What your shoes say about you: Top Five Shoes at the Oscars ®
As you know, footwear is the most important thing an Oscar nominee can wear, (click here to read more on that!)

It was quite a Brain Atwood night with Melissa McCarthy getting tearful over the sweet note he sent her with her custom-made shoes (not to mention Billy Crystal having to contend with her sparkly peep-toe clad gams!

Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone also hopped on the Atwood train as well, and Jimmy Choo had quite a major showing too with Melissa Leo and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Biggest trend of the night was the peep-toe which is no surprise. Ialways say that the peep-toe is the shoe’s version of a wink — flirty and fun, and I think safe to say every woman in a peep-toe at the Oscars was feeling that mood last night.

Number Five: Melissa Leo
The dress was sooooo wrong and the shoes were soooo right.Jimmy Choo Koko black suede and gold metallic Koko platform sandals.

What the shoes say: “Though I might feel conflicted about stepping out and being noticed, my footwear definitely says I am a strong woman who knows what I want.”

(Please note, Emmas’s were custom made so these are same similar style in a snakeskin)

Number Four: Emma Stone

Everyone was divided on her dress. I liked the fact that she kicked it with a pair of Brian Atwood custom super high fuchsia satin ankle strap platform peep-toe sandals.

What the shoes say: “I’m here to enjoy and have fun!”

Number Three: Melissa McCarthy

Again, we had a conflict.  Dress was so wrong for her with way too much chiffon fluttering and blousoning, yet the shoes were so great and so appropriate for the occasion. Brian Atwood custom open-toed platform pumps with Swarovski crystals and personalized soles

What the shoes say: “A little confused about how I want to be seen, but feeling grounded and loved in these gorgeous custom sparkly stilettos”

Meryl Ferragamo

Number Two: Meryl Streep

Meryl picked a pair of Salvatore Ferragamos to compliment her Lanvin gold lame dress. It was almost a perfect match fabric-wise. Ferregamo, of course, has a very long history of dressingHollywood starlets, and Meryl chose these shoes specifically because Ferragamo was the brand Margaret Thatcher always wore. Guess the lucky shoes worked!

What the shoes say: “That gold statue is mine!”

Number One: Gwyneth Paltrow in Jimmy Choo

Gwyneth just got it all right last night.  The directional Tom Ford dress, Anna Hu cuff and ring and Jimmy Choo Koko platform cross strap peep toe stilettos in gold.

What the shoes say: “I’m truly, truly in my element!”

An honorary shoutout to Heidi Klum who rocked the Christian Louboutin Duvette at the Elton John party — so fresh + elegant.

Angelina! I so want to get you out of the literal shoes you choose every time! There’s more to life than a matchy-matchy black or cream peep toe!  And especially with your leg pose — a missed opportunity for sure.  Would love to have seen you in these Kirkwood’s or these Jerome’s instead.

So that’s my Oscars® Shoe Scoop! Hope you enjoyed. Let me know your thoughts by hitting reply to this email or posting on myFacebook page!

Oh! and P.S. — not sure if you caught me in Las Vegas at Crystals City Center last week – one of my most favorite shopping destinations since I first discovered it two years ago.

We did a very fun seminar with Jimmy Choo and got deep into the soles of our four fabulous panelists as well as Spring and Summer shoe trends (think Skittles® candy colors for Spring shoes!).  Click the pic  below to see my appearance on FOX.

(Oh! and I have it on very good authority that producer Wendi Murdoch wore the purple feathered Jimmy Choo Stilettos I featured in this segment below last night at the Oscars with herRodarte dress.)

I was very lucky to be dressed by Erika and her staff at Brunello Cucinelli for my event in a gorgeous navy asymmetrical sheath and wore my super high Dana Davis platforms for ten hours!  Haircut + color by the super talented Marco Pelusi and Christy Pacifico and makeup and hair from Jheramie + Tony. It seriously takes a village to get ready and I thank you all!
