When organizing the bedroom, one major obstacle is what to do with your shoes — especially when your apartment’s barely bigger than a shoebox. Meghan Cleary, shoe expert and author of “The Perfect Fit: What Your Shoes Say About You,” says organized doesn’t necessarily mean out-of-sight. “Shoes are so visual, they take cues from architecture and design. I like to display my shoes, because half the joy is to look at them.” Cleary flaunts her favorite heels as centerpieces on household surfaces. “There’s no one-size-fits-all solution,” she affirms.

If you’re not quite ready to put them on a pedestal, here are a few clever ways to store your shoes.

Iglu

This brand-new, modular solution is flexible to suit your space. Reconnect to create various shapes or a hanging unit. Each pod is individually zippered. $35 for six cases,

Shoe Wheel

The shoe wheel almost seems like too much fun to be practical. Flats, heels and fold-over boots fit in the slots; you spin it to snag the pair you want to wear. Add your prettiest, colorful pairs for aesthetic appeal. $65, www.tszuji.com

Shoebby

Conveniently create clear shoebox stacks, showing off what’s inside while protecting footwear from dust. A pull-out drawer allows easy access, and a handle helps you travel. Available in a variety of sizes. $6-$16, www.shoebby.com
