KATIE HOLMES: MISS MEGHAN’S CELEBRITY SHOE-CAM

Ok ladies, What do you think about this? Katie wearing super bright orange with cobalt blue heels! As we know blue and orange are complimentary colors on the color wheel, but what do you think it says about her? It is a very fresh take on all the amazing poppy Spring colors we’ve been seeing that is for sure. Her dress is purposely just above maxi length as well so we we SEE THOSE SHOES.

The blue shoe thing kinda reminds me of my Bridal Shoe advice – maybe people will be more accepting of pairing blue shoes with their wedding dresses seeing how fresh it looks peeping out from under a long gown.

Anyhoo, My shoe-mood analysis: very adventurous! as in “take that fashion world! i’m not afraid to walk the edge and take a risk! and look good doing it.”

Woweeee its orange. I thought it was red so I was over the top overjoyed that she took a risk and went for the superhero theme a la Wonderwoman.
Now realizing its orange I’m not too sure but I still love the blue heels.

I’m all for taking the fashion forward approach and playing around with colors, but I’m really not certain how complimentary these colors are to one another, despite their location on the color wheel… I think maybe a warm tone would have suited the dress better. But goodness, the cobalt is awfully pretty!!

Kudos to Katie for playing with colors, but I don’t like this ensemble. The dress and the shoe are both stunning, and I feel that because they are both so eye-catching, there’s just too much going on here. I would prefer to have the attention drawn to the heels more, by wearing a less brilliant-colored gown. Maybe an elegant black dress or even a toned-down yellow gown.

FYI Katie was attending an event celebrating super heros. Her ensemble was an homage to her favorite – Wonder Woman – and included an Armani gown from their archives; Christian Louboutin blue heels; and vintage gold cuff bracelets. Whether she would have combined the red dress and the blue shoes had she not been attending the super hero event, who knows. What we do know is that her super hero interpretation was the best I saw of all of the attendees.
