My humble opinion: Oscar shoe style

Check out what I had to say about Red Carpet shoe style at the Oscars on BOSTON Now:

Oscar Shoe-ins – and Outs

Nicole Kidman: Nicole stirred up a frenzy with her outfit – critics were split down the middle. What I loved were her simple, chic, black D’Orsay peep-toe stilettos. Nicole has excellent taste [in] shoes – she is not afraid to be adventurous (she was one of the few who wore Roger Vivier’s feather and clear PVC Stilettos two seasons ago), but always knows when to be totally classic. Her shoes complement[ed] the dress [but] held their own.

Rebecca Miller (Daniel Day Lewis’s wife): Rebecca wore black and white striped closed toe pointy stilettos with her ensemble, and while I admire her adventuresome take on the red carpet, her dress would have been better served with a more classic closed toe, plain black silk or satin stiletto. The stripes were a bit too cartoonish and with so much going on up top, drew the eye down with too much of a jolt.

Diablo Cody: Diablo caused a media hubbub when she chose to wear the million dollar Stuart Weitzman shoes. After she chose them, Weitzman issued a press release about it. Diablo [the] wrote on her mySpace page: “I would never consent to a lame publicity stunt at a time when I already want to hide.” As a result, she showed up in a pair of gold round toed kitten heel shoes that complimented her flowing leopard dress quite nicely – they didn’t compete yet gave just enough shine to add interest.diablo-cody-shoes.jpg
